Geneva on a Rainy Day

Even as people were arriving at Geneva airport in large numbers for skiing and jumping in to SUVs with skiing gears tied to the top of the vehicles, I moved in to the city for a tour on this rainy day. The building above, The Conservatoire de musique de Genève  founded by François Bartholoni in 1835, is at the place de Neuve. The is the institution where Franz List had taught in its year of inaguration.

This is a beautiful sculpture in a niche at the facade of the building. This great institution has celebrated 175 years. Standing in front, I had that feeling of elation when you  have the sense of history.
